Our professional tradesmen will have continued access to advanced training through our company to insure that they have the opportunity to develop their skills and that they are up to date with industry requirements.

Founder
Kevin Hattin realised early in his career the only way to guarantee a consistently high level of workmanship and professionalism was to own and manage his own business. Starting out as Kevin Hattin Builder in 1986, he then formed Update Renovate, which has become a trusted family design and construction company over the last 25 years.
Kevin is proud of the strong reputation he and his team have built up over this period, along with his strong base of referrals and repeat customers.
In creating his team, Kevin insists on the same dedication to quality, individual expertise, professionalism and attention to detail that has defined his career. This extends from Kevin’s first year apprentices through to his most senior tradesmen and is reflected in the tradesmanship and quality of work completed by Update Renovate.
The Update Renovate Team
Three generations of the Hattin family work or intend to work with Update Renovate.
Kevin Hattin has been the Principal Builder since 1986, with his son Ray completing his apprenticeship with the company.
Kevin’s father Norm Hattin is an Industrial Engineer and has worked in the drafting industry for over 50 years. Now in his 70s, Norm’s passion for the industry remains strong and he continues to work one day a week for Update Renovate. We are happy to have him on board, as he brings a rare level of experience and skills to our drafting section.
Ray Hattin is currently working full time in Drafting & Estimating for another Building Company in Sydney, but plans to return to Update Renovate when his Sydney based partner has finished her medical training.
Our apprentices. It’s one of our policies to always count apprentices in our team and we have continued to maintain a program of recruiting, training and developing apprentices. We regularly receive great feedback about our apprentices from customers, who mention their dedication, promptness and attention to detail. We also take on share apprentices on a regular basis.
Our trades people. Professional tradesmen have access to advanced training through our company, including training such as Certified Site Manager, Certified Asbestos Removal, Certified First Aid and Certified Electrical Testing and Tagging of equipment.

Richard and I would like to compliment you on your team of builders. It was a pleasure having Rob, Ray and Patrick come to work at our house every day.
